DETROIT – Have you received a stimulus check yet? Millions of Americans are still waiting on their stimulus check.

The IRS said Michigan has a high number of people who haven’t received their checks.

They started being dropped into mail boxes and being electronically deposited into bank accounts in March, but many Michiganders who are eligible are still missing out and not getting the money owed to them.

“It’s important to make sure they have the correct information,” said financial expert Kirk Cassidy. “If not, they can’t find you and your money may not get delivered.”

The most important thing you can do right now is make sure your personal information is up to date. Head to the official lRS website, confirm your name, address and banking information.

Last go around, more than 10 million Americans didn’t get the money owed to them because this information wasn’t current.

The IRS wants you to get this money and if your payment is stalled because you were part of the H&R Block or Turbo Tax glitch, take a moment to contact the IRS directly to inquire.

Investigators are also tracking many scams right now involving the stimulus check and your personal info. If you get a call from someone claiming to be from the IRS and that you need to pay to get your check or provide personal information, hang up.

“The IRS does not cold call people asking for money or this type of information,” Cassidy said. “That is a red flag of a scammer.”
