46 people arrested in human trafficking sting in Warren

WARREN, Mich. – More than 40 people have been arrested in a human trafficking sting in Warren.

Overall, 46 people were arrested -- 25 women and 21 men. Charges include prostitution, soliciting prostitution and possession of illegal drugs.

During a news conference Friday morning, Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer said this was a three-day operation with a mission of locating and identifying victims of human trafficking. The operation focused also focused on busting prostitution, pandering and the movement of prostitutes used by drug dealers.

Dwyer said three victims of human trafficking were identified after the three-day sweep. Human trafficking charges could follow.

Members of the Warren Police Department’s Special Investigation Division, Special Operation Unit, Criminal; Investigations Division and members of the uniform patrol Division participated in the sting.
