Professional musicians go virtual amid coronavirus pandemic

Bassoonists of Metro Detroit Present “Crocodile Rock”

FERNDALE, Mich. – A group of professional musicians out of work because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic took their talents to neighborhoods during the stay-at-home order.

West Lewiston street in Ferndale is a typical suburban street where the mail carrier knows everybody’s name. Recently, it has been home to the driveway series of musical entertainment.

As people walk by the music can lift their spirits. The first time the musicians gathered, it was cold outside and they were in winter jackets. Now they’re in summer dresses and shorts.
