DETROIT – An old, abandoned medical center on Detroit’s west side is being transformed into a vital community resource. Epic Health’s plan to open a new health clinic in Detroit’s 48238 zip code is coming to fruition, providing timely health services to the community.
The area is considered a healthcare desert, meaning residents face significant challenges accessing quality medical care.
Epic Health is committed to changing that.
Dr. Greg Naman and Dr. Ted Naman are brothers on a mission. They gave Local 4 a quick tour and sneak peek of their newest site set to open at 4059 W. Davison Street.

We first met the Naman brothers a year ago when they shared their plans to transform an old clinic that had been sitting abandoned for years into a state-of-the-art health care center.
Epic’s West Davidson Center looks completely different after a year of work.
Contractors are still preparing for the grand opening -- which is just weeks away.
There’s a large number of patient rooms and the brothers said the exam rooms are designed with efficiency in mind.
Just around the corner, a state-of-the-art lab is under construction.
”On-site laboratory," said Dr. Greg Naman. “So, instead of having to do a lot of things and sending the patients out for lab, we do a lot of our own labs in-house.”
Contractors are finishing the advanced care team area, where a variety of professionals will gather to collaborate on a patient’s care plan.
The brothers grew up in the area. They said opening the new medical center is important to them because data shows 70,000 people here don’t have convenient access to healthcare centers.
”Being known as more of, like a health desert, not really having good representation from quality health care providers and the facilities that were there, are not up to par. Not up to our standards," said Dr. Ted Naman. “That’s really been a dream of ours to get a high-quality health center. Get the latest and greatest technology here.”
The brothers said the site will focus on primary care, proactive care and prevention for the whole family.
The center will also include space on the second floor where patients can expect a range of procedures to be performed. There will also be a space for a community center.
It’s scheduled to open in April.
