4 workers charged in Oakland County hyperbaric chamber explosion death to appear in court

All four of the workers charged in the death of a 5-year-old boy who was killed in a hyperbaric chamber explosion at an Oakland County health care facility are expected to appear in court on Wednesday.

Tamela Peterson, 58, of Brighton, Jeffrey Mosteller, 64, of Clinton Township, Gary Marken, 65, of Spring Arbor and Aleta Moffitt, 60, of Rochester Hills, are scheduled to appear before 52-4 District Court Judge Maureen McGinnis at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, for probable cause conferences.

2-car crash in Warren leaves man dead

A man is dead, and a woman is injured after a two-car crash Wednesday morning in Warren.

At around 6:20 a.m. on April 30, 2025, a man in his 50s or 60s was driving northbound on Van Dyke Avenue near North Civic Center Drive, reportedly lost control and crashed into a Dodge Durango.

Experts testify on Day 2 of Ex-officer’s trial in death of Patrick Lyoya: Here’s a breakdown

The prosecution continued to call witnesses on day two of the trial in the death of Patrick Lyoya.

Lyoya, a 26-year-old Congolese refugee, was shot and killed by a Grand Rapids Police Officer during a traffic stop in April 2022.

The former officer, Christopher Schurr, is charged with second-degree Murder in Lyoya’s death.

Tuesday’s testimonies focused on experts, as opposed to witnesses who recalled the events from their perspective.

After some sunshine and record temperatures for Tuesday before the thunderstorms rolled through, we will dry things out and bring some cooler temperatures into the forecast for the middle of the week.

Drier weather returns for the middle of the week on Wednesday, but we will cool things down near reasonable temperatures. High pressure will build into the region, so we will see lots of sunshine for most of the day before more clouds move in late in the afternoon and into the evening. High temperatures returning to the low end of the 60s by Wednesday afternoon.
