WARREN, Mich. – The Warren Police Department’s inaugural Thanksgiving meal community outreach resulted in giving 60 families in need food for the holiday.

In the event, organized and led by Community Policing Officer Bryce Moon, the Warren Police Department and Community Policing Unit delivered turkeys and other essential fixings to 60 families in need across the city of Warren on Saturday, Nov. 22.

The event was made possible through the fundraiser hosted at Buffalo Wild Wings in Warren on Oct. 8, 2025, which provided the funds to purchase the Thanksgiving meals.

The police department thanked Value Fresh Market at 10 Mile and Hoover for helping officers finalize purchases to ensure every family received their complete Thanksgiving dinner.

“Through my daily interactions with the community, I saw firsthand the growing need for support, especially during the holidays. Seeing the genuine surprise and thankfulness on the families’ faces made all the hard work worthwhile,” said Moon. “This project shows that when our officers and community partners come together, we can truly make a tangible difference in the community.”

“This inaugural Thanksgiving outreach is the essence of proactive Community-Oriented Policing,” said Commissioner Eric Hawkins. “I want to thank every officer, local union member, and community partner, especially Value Fresh Market and Buffalo Wild Wings, who dedicated their time and resources to ensure 60 of our families felt supported this holiday. The Warren Police Department is committed to being an active partner in our city’s well-being, and we look forward to expanding this successful tradition in the years to come.”
