There are four Northern Michigan counties under winter weather alerts due to a chance of snow.

The following four counties are under a winter weather advisory until 5 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025:
- Benzie
- Emmet
- Leelanau
- Manistee
Snow accumulations and blowing snow are expected, according to the National Weather Service.
These areas are expected to 2 to 4 inches of snow, with locally higher amounts of up to 6 inches expected in Emmet County.
Drivers should be cautious of slippery road conditions and the possibility of reduced visibility due to the blowing snow.
Metro Detroit snow forecast
Snow is also possible in Metro Detroit this weekend.
We could see a dusting of snow overnight Friday into Saturday morning, with a low chance for freezing drizzle.
The better chance for accumulating light snow will arrive on Sunday morning.
The 4Warn Weather team isn’t expecting to see more than an inch of accumulation from this.
