DETROIT – As spring turns to summer, millions of American golfers will be hitting the greens from coast to coast. There's a new app that can make their games more interesting.
It's called GolfLogix. We're told it works on just about every smartphone on the market. So, what does this app do? It allows you to compare scores and compete with other golfers who have played the same course.

It also has a database of over 30,000 courses around the country, offers great graphics, maps, and yardage to holes and hazards on the very course you're playing.
You can use the app for scoring, and it keeps track of all your stats, from past games, even offering club tracking from tee to cup.

While the basic app is free, you can upgrade for $20 and get precise GPS distance info to the front, back and center of green.
