Bob Krause congratulates Greer Clausen on win at Hawk Hollow

By: Phyllis C. Barone – Greer Clausen made it the best birthday of her life on Oct. 2, 2013, by claiming the women's title in the GAM Tournament of Champions.

Clausen, who has been mentored by Bob Krause for the last three years, won in a sudden-death playoff against Stacy Slobnik-Stoll -- the women's golf coach at Michigan State.

"I was nervous just playing with her because she's such a great coach and player, but she is so nice that after the first few holes I just played golf," Clausen said. "Getting to play with her was a great birthday present already."

Clausen drove the green on Hawk Hollow's second hole, a short 242 yard par 4 and then proceeded to sink a 25 foot putt for an eagle and the win.
Clausen, a Senior at Cranbrook Kingswood High School, has heard from several Division I schools regarding scholarship opportunities but hasn't made any decision yet. She is a talented golfer and has very good test scores and would love to take her game to Michigan State, her Dad's alma mater, and walk on the golf team.
Bob Krause notes that, "Clausen's talent was very evident from the start. After working together on a weekly basis for over three years, it all came together. Hard work, dedication and discipline are all adjectives that describe Greer Clausen."
The synergy between Krause and Clausen is a successful one.

"I started working with Bob a couple of years ago and he really helped me to take my swing to the next level, Clausen said. " I see him weekly during the winter months and he encouraged me work on golf-specific strength training, which has made a big difference in the distance I get. Bob Krause has been a great teacher, friend and mentor."
Congratulations and Happy Birthday Greer Clausen!
