Zingermanโs 6th annual fundraiser to benefit SafeHouse goes virtual amid pandemic
ANN ARBOR, Mich. โ Zingermanโs Community of Businesses is hosting a virtual dinner Tuesday night to wrap up a month-long fundraiser benefiting SafeHouse Center. The sixth annual Jelly Bean Jump Up will feature a three course meal from Zingermanโs Roadhouse, which participants can order online and pick up before the event. The Jelly Bean Jump Up will take place 7 p.m. Tuesday. Funds raised from Jelly Bean Jump Up will benefit Ann Arborโs SafeHouse Center, who serves domestic violence and sexual assault survivors in Washtenaw County. United Way of Washtenaw Countyโs annual Power of the Purse benefit goes virtual
ANN ARBOR โ United Way of Washtenaw Countyโs Power of the Purse benefit will be moving online this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Tickets are now available for the March 10 event that will honor UWWCโs 2021 Woman of the Year, Food Gatherersโ CEO and President, Eileen Spring. Spring was chosen by the Power of the Purse committee for her accomplishments in food system security, innovation and community leadership. To date, the Power of the Purse event has allowed the UWWC Womenโs Leadership Initiative to grant over $260,000 for womenโs programs in Washtenaw County. Spring has been at the helm of Food Gatherers for 27 years and helped develop the organizationโs Food Security Plan, which played an integral role when the coronavirus pandemic hit the area.
Ann Arbor Jewish Federationโs benefit goes virtual this year
ANN ARBOR โ The Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor will be moving its annual benefit The Main Event online this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The virtual cabaret will kick off at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 21 and will feature performances from Broadway, film and TV star Tovah Feldshuh and Ann Arbor native Ari Axelrod. โThis will be an evening of Broadway-caliber entertainment with the goal of supporting Jewish life locally and around the world,โ reads the event website. 7-8 p.m. Cabaret with Tovah Feldshuh and Ari Axelrod on YouTube LiveAdDuring the performance, you may choose to enjoy a dinner catered by Amandaโs Kitchen, available for purchase. Crime Stoppers of Michigan to host virtual week-long auction
METRO DETROIT โ Crime Stoppers is holding its first annual Time To Fight Crime Auction from Sunday to Saturday, Nov. 21. The nonprofit is asking residents to donate or bid on items to help support Crime Stoppers' efforts to create safer neighborhoods across Metro Detroit. It empowers people to take an active role in reducing crime by implementing grassroots programming, publicizing crimes and providing an anonymous tip-line.
