WASHTENAW COUNTY, Mich. โ The Washtenaw County Sheriffโs Office is warning area residents to stay vigilant when it comes to online safety. On Tuesday, the sheriffโs office released a statement alerting residents to two instances of โswattingโ that are under investigation. The WCSO statement highlights two recent swatting incidents within Washtenaw County on Aug. 31 and Sept. 6. Police said that while residents should make sure to maintain their online privacy, gamers should take extra precautions in order to not be victims of swatting. These Teachers Are Learning How to Take Down an Active Shooter
These teachers are going back to school to learn how to take down an active shooter in the classroom. Former SWAT team cop Dave Acosta is instructing some 200 teachers in Las Vegas how to protect themselves and their students from attackers. He runs "Fight Back," a program that trains educators how to defend with their bare hands. Tim Evancich runs multiple charter schools in Nevada and Utah and greenlit the training program for the institutions. Gunman, woman found dead after standoff with police in St. Clair Shores
ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. - A gunman and woman died after a long standoff with police that started Thursday night. After hours of negotiation procedures with the gunman failed, SWAT officers made their way into the home where the gunman had barricaded himself and found him dead, officials say. "Although the barricaded gunman situation has been brought to an end, this incident will be under investigation for some time," police said in a news release. The intense standoff between police and the barricaded gunman that started Thursday continued until Saturday morning. Breaking: Police sources confirm the standoff in St. Clair Shores that started Thursday night at 10pm is over.
