A 17-year-old student from Riverview is being treated for severe burns after he went to a market during his lunch break and a worker ignited the lighter fluid that was dripping out of his saturated backpack, officials said.

On Saturday before 3 p.m. officers responded to a domestic violence incident in the 300 block of Pinewood Circle in Plymouth. Livonia woman charged with disturbing peace after parking lot altercation
LIVONIA, Mich. A 46-year-old Livonia woman faces a disturbing the peace charge after getting into an altercation with a fellow grocery store shopper June 13 in the parking lot outside the Kroger store on 8 Mile Road. The Wayne County Prosecutors Office said Paula Marie Gearin intentionally blocked another female shoppers car so that the shopper was not able to leave the grocery store parking lot. According to the Prosecutors Office, it was about 4 p.m that day when the defendant was in the grocery store with a child. While in the store, she had a verbal exchange with another female shopper who was with her children, too. Livonia police officers arrived and spoke with both parties and the complainant filed a police report, reads a statement from the Prosecutors Office.

DETROIT โ Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy is seeking victims of prisoners who will soon be paroled so they can be properly notified. According to the Wayne County Prosecutorโs Office, MDOC began sending letters to the office early last month about paroling prisoners because of the COVID-19 outbreak. In any given month, MDOC paroles just under 700 prisoners a month. During the COVID-19 pandemic, itโs over 700 and closer to 800.
