Metro Detroit has plenty of reasons to get outside this weekend, and for the most part, the weather is cooperating.
Whether your plans include the Detroit Harvest Fest, a cider mill, pumpkin picking, an evening soccer match or simply taking advantage of an October weekend, Saturday is shaping up to be the more reliably dry day.
A cool start, with areas of patchy fog, gives way to a mostly sunny Saturday. After morning temperatures in the 30s and 40s, temperatures will eventually top out around 63 degrees during the afternoon.

Winds remain light and variable. That should make it a comfortable day for walking around an outdoor festival, hitting the orchard or spending some time outside before sunset.
You may still want a jacket during the morning and after dark. Temperatures will fall fairly quickly once the sun goes down.

Saturday night plans
Saturday evening should remain pleasant and dry across Metro Detroit.
That includes the Detroit City FC match against Birmingham Legion FC at Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck. Temperatures will be in the upper 50s at the 7 p.m. start, falling toward the lower 50s later in the evening under mostly clear skies.
A jacket, hoodie, or sweatshirt will probably come in handy by the second half.
Elsewhere, Saturday night, lows settle into the mid-40s around Detroit.
A warmer Sunday with one wrinkle
Sunday brings a noticeable warmup, with afternoon temperatures climbing to near 70 degrees.
There is, however, a small rain chance to watch.
A disturbance and weakening front could bring a few showers Sunday morning, particularly across communities farther north. The better shower opportunity appears to be generally north of M-59, although an isolated shower farther south cannot be ruled out.
This will not be an all-day rain event.
Sunday should still offer plenty of rain-free outdoor time, particularly as the day progresses. So if you are headed to an outdoor event, do not cancel the plans. It may be helpful to take a quick look at Exact Track 4D Radar before leaving early Sunday.
Lions weather is a different story
While Metro Detroit enjoys relatively quiet weather, Lions fans traveling to Charlotte, North Carolina may endure more active weather.
The Lions face the Panthers Sunday night at Bank of America Stadium, and rain is possible around game time with a chance of thunderstorms.
Temperatures should hover in the mid-60s during the game, with readings around 66 degrees near 8 p.m., then slipping into the mid-60s through the evening.
For anyone attending the game, rain gear could be much more useful than a heavy jacket.
Cooler air returns Monday
Back home, another push of cooler air arrives behind Sunday’s cold front.
Monday looks mostly sunny but cooler and breezier, with highs only about 62 to 63 degrees. Northwest winds could occasionally gust to 20 mph.
The chilliest period of the forecast may arrive Monday night into early Tuesday. Some communities, particularly the Thumb and northern suburbs, could fall into the mid-30s, bringing the potential for frost.
Tuesday remains cool, with highs in the lower 60s.
After that, temperatures rebound. Highs climb back toward the upper 60s Wednesday and around 70 degrees Thursday and Friday, with predominantly dry weather continuing.
