ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Tree Town residents can get free home energy assessments and advice on how to be more energy efficient with Ann Arbor’s new A2ZERO Home Energy Advisor (HEA) program.
The City of Ann Arbor launched the program in early May to help homeowners evaluate their energy usage and learn about ways to make their homes healthier and more sustainable.

Residents can learn about incentives, rebates, financing options and home project selection, and how to connect with contractors and review project bids.
“This localized, community approach to providing residents with an energy concierge service is one step toward a brighter and cleaner future for Ann Arbor residents,” said City of Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations Director Missy Stults.
The program, guided by the city’s A2ZERO carbon neutrality initiatives, is approved through 2026. It is offered in partnership with Walker-Miller Energy Services.
Officials said the program aims to optimize Ann Arbor homes by helping residents make them more affordable and sustainable.
HEA assessment will be offered online or in-person depending on residents’ needs. Recommendations to reach carbon neutrality and resources will be reported in individual “Path to Zero” reports.
City residents interested in a HEA report can submit an intake form at a2zerohea.org.
