Man hits complete stranger in back with metal pipe in Ann Arbor, police say

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – A man in Ann Arbor walked up to a complete stranger and hit him in the back with a metal pipe without saying a word, police said.

The attack happened around 10:05 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 2019 West Stadium Boulevard.

Officials said the man in the above picture walked up to another person and struck him in the back with a metal pipe.

The two men didn’t know each other, and no words were exchanged before the attack, according to police.

The attacker ran away on foot, police said. The other man was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries to his back.

Ann Arbor police are searching for a 25- to 30-year-old man with a thin build, short- to medium-length black hair, and glasses.
