University of Michigan issues emergency alerts, advising residents to avoid Plymouth Road in Ann Arbor

Officials ask residents not to enter area

WASHTENAW COUNTY, Mich. – The University of Michigan Division of Public Safety & Security has issued emergency alerts advising residents to avoid the area.

The first alert went out on Wednesday (Dec. 18) at 9:24 p.m. in a parking lot near a research center around the 2800 block of Plymouth Road.

The second alert went out at 9:43 p.m., asking residents not to enter the area until it had been cleared.

The situation is ongoing at the parking lot between the North Campus Research Complex and the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute.

Officials say the situation has ended peacefully.
