ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Police in Ann Arbor are looking for whoever is responsible for dumping a dog inside a dumpster.
According to authorities, a mostly-white furred male pit bull mix was found Tuesday, March 25, inside a dumpster off Wolverine Drive, off Platt Road. He was not wearing a collar and had no microchip.
Police said it has a large abscess or tumor on the left side of its ribs.
Officers worked with Washtenaw County Animal Control to safely remove the dog from the dumpster. The dog was then taken to the Humane Society of Huron Valley for medical treatment.
They are currently asking for donations to care for the dog, who they describe as “nervous, but very sweet.”
Anyone who recognizes the dog or has any information is asked to contact the Ann Arbor Police Department at 734-794-6920.
