Ann Arbor apartment fire causes $700K in damages

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – An apartment fire in Ann Arbor early Saturday morning caused significant damage and displaced several people.

According to authorities, fire crews were alerted to a fire at the Arbor Landings apartment complex on Dexter Road just after 4:30 a.m., Saturday, April 5. When they arrived, they found the fire had already spread to the attic of two second-floor apartments. While fire damage was limited to only two units, water and smoke significantly damaged the other six units.

Fire crews from multiple municipalities assisted in battling the blaze.

The fire caused an estimated $700,000 in damage to the building and its contents.

No injuries were reported.

Authorities believe the fire started on a second-floor balcony and spread to the attic. They do not suspect foul play.
