Driver killed by own gravel hauler in Ann Arbor

Police investigate fatal accident at construction site

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – A 64-year-old man from Livonia was killed in Ann Arbor when he was struck by his own gravel hauler’s trailer.

It happened at about 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, off Pauline Boulevard. Police said the man was found under one of the trailers with significant injuries. He died at the scene.

Authorities believe he was the driver of the gravel hauler and was hit when he was reconnecting the front and rear trailers after dropping sand off at a construction site.

As police investigated, the westbound lanes of Pauline Boulevard were closed between Main and 7th streets for roughly five hours.
