Ann Arbor break-in suspect could be connected to other home invasions

Suspect remains in custody at Washtenaw County jail

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – A 34-year-old man was arrested after reportedly breaking into an Ann Arbor home.

It happened early Saturday morning (April 19). According to authorities, police were dispatched to the intersection of Ingalls and Ann streets at about 6:30 a.m. on reports of a breaking and entering that was in progress. Police said a neighbor called 911 after they saw a man attempt to crawl into a window.

Responding police officers found the suspect in the area and was taken into custody. He reportedly had a taser on him when he was arrested and a knife was recovered from the scene.

Richard Levoid Johnson II was charged Sunday, April 20, with first-degree home invasion and possession or sale of a taser. His bond was set at $100,000.

Police said several other break-ins happened that weekend that they believe may be connected. The investigation is ongoing.
