ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Michigan Wolverines running back Justice Haynes is likely to miss the rest of the regular season following foot surgery, per head coach Sherrone Moore.
Haynes led the Big Ten in rushing before he suffered a foot injury in the battle for the Paul Bunyan trophy in East Lansing against the Michigan State Spartans on Oct. 25, 2025.

Moore said he expected Haynes to miss the final two games, including Michigan’s matchup against the Maryland Terrapins on Saturday (Nov. 22) and a week later against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Nov. 29.
Haynes finished his lone season with the Wolverines, tallying 857 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.
The Alabama Crimson Tide transfer was seen on the sidelines during Michigan’s victory against the Purdue Boilermakers on Nov. 1 with his right foot in a cast and knee on a scooter.
Although his season and potential collegiate career (he may enter the NFL draft) may have come to a close, Haynes definitely left his mark while wearing the maize and blue.
Haynes rushed for 100 yards in six games of his first seven games, while ushering in some memorable explosive runs, including a 75-yard gallop to the endzone vs. Nebraska, and back-to-back 20-yard runs to start the third quarter against the Spartans.
Don’t forget about the 75-yard touchdown run on the road against the Oklahoma Sooners.
In his departure, running back Jordan Marshall stepped up to the plate and carried the load for the No. 18-ranked Wolverines, but left in their recent matchup inside Wrigley Field in the fourth quarter against the Northwestern Wildcats.
In Marshall’s absence, running back Bryson Kuzdzal stepped up and helped lead Michigan to a narrow 24-22 victory on Saturday, Nov. 15.
