Veteran with disabilities faces battle over mobility van warranty dispute in Eastpointe

Veteran was told that warranty did not cover his issue

EASTPOINTE, Mich. – Percy Parker, a disabled veteran, sought assistance from Local 4 Consumer Investigator Hank Winchester after a car controversy caused financial issues for him and his family.

Parker’s wheelchair-accessible vehicle required repairs, which he believed should have been covered by the warranty.

Parker, who lives in Eastpointe, was in a difficult situation when he was told that the warranty did not cover his van’s mechanical issues.

Despite needing the van for mobility, he was forced to pay for the repairs out of pocket.

After further investigation, Parker discovered that the warranty indeed covered the problems. However, obtaining reimbursement has taken months, leaving him strained financially.
