Black History Month is an opportunity to learn about the stories of American History that may sometimes go untold. They are lessons that are the fabric of our country and as it’s said, Black History is American History.
All month long the University of Detroit Mercy has programming they would like the public to be a part of, to learn more about Black History. Representatives from the school stopped by “Live in the D” to chat about what they have to offer.
“We have film screenings, we have panel discussions, we have book talks in-person or virtual,” said Associate Professor of History, and Director of The African American Studies Program, Justin Williams.
The programs will kick off on Thursday, February 6, with Author Kidada Williams who will speak about her book “I Saw Death Coming”.
