It is was one of the most watched shows when it debuted on Netflix in 2024 and now Tyler Perry’s “Beauty In Black” is coming back for a second season. One of the stars of the show, Terrell Carter, has a connection with Detroit and talked with “Live In The D” about his history with the city, and working with Tyler Perry.
“I first started in this business with Fred Hammond, the great Fred Hammond, and Radical For Christ when he started the group,” said Carter. “So, I moved to Detroit from Buffalo New York and that’s where it all started.”
When talking about the show, Carter said it was theater that actually got him connected to Tyler Perry. “I started with the theater plays, ‘Madea’s Class Reunion', and my first movie was his first movie, ‘Diary Of A Mad Black Woman’ singing the song ‘Father Can You Hear Me’.”
Carter spoke about his character on “Beauty In Black”, and the second season. He also talked about the places he misses most from Detroit.
