Here are some of the options you might want to check out:

  • Orchard Lake Fine Art Show returns for 22nd year

The Orchard Lake Fine Art Show is back, featuring high-quality art and crafts, a youth art competition, live entertainment, and more than half a dozen food trucks. The show runs Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27 on Orchard Lake between 14 and 15 Mile in West Bloomfield.

  • Pride Royal Oak celebrates community

The annual Pride Royal Oak event offers panel discussions, book signings, entertainment, a kid’s zone with carnival games and prizes, and much more. It takes place Saturday, July 26 in Downtown Royal Oak.

  • Collard green cook-off celebrates Black culinary heritage

Returning for its third year, the Collard Green Cook-Off celebrates Black culinary heritage and Detroit’s urban farming legacy. Guests can enjoy a variety of greens as chefs of all ages compete for the win. The event runs Saturday, July 26 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Chandler Park on Detroit’s Eastside.

  • Oak Park Garden Tour invites nature lovers

On Sunday, the Oak Park Garden Tour features 40 gardens around the city for visitors to explore. A resource fair with local organizations will also be part of the festival. A map of the gardens is available on the Oak Park Garden Tour website.

  • Comedian Mike Bonner brings laughs at shades of blue showcase

Friend of the show Mike Bonner, part of Detroit’s Rat Pack Comedy, will perform at the Shades of Blue Music Showcase at Punchline Comedy Club in Southfield. Shows are scheduled for July 25 through July 27.
