A Detroit tradition that brings together community, creativity, and local flavor is returning to Eastern Market November 9th - it’s the All Things Detroit Holiday Shopping Experience!
Shoppers can browse more than 200 local vendors, grab a bite, and soak in the festive atmosphere. Among the food favorites drawing big crowds this year is Michigan’s newest, and only, 100% gluten-free food truck, Tru Pizza Company.
Anthony Cipolla, the owner of Tru Pizza Co. Food Truck joined “Live in the D” to share how he redefined the comfort food to be celiac-safe and allergy-friendly. We were also joined by the founder of All Things Detroit and friend of the show, Jennyfer Crawford-Williams.
Anthony explained why Tru Pizza Co. stands out from the rest. Inspired by his wife who had gotten diagnosed with Celiac disease, their pizza is free from almost every major allergen - from gluten to eggs and dairy. Anthony says it is the “best gluten free pizza you’re ever going to have” and challenges viewers to tell him the pizza doesn’t taste as good as every other pizza chain.
When asked what makes the holiday event so special, Jennyfer said “the people, the shopping small, the local businesses. They are putting their all into creating the products and services that they have.” She explained the importance of being a part of the community and showing up to support all the vendors.
