Detroit’s indie rock scene just keeps getting louder, and one of its exciting new voices is the band Moravian. They’re quickly making a name for themselves across Michigan.
During a Music Monday appearance on “Live In The D,” lead vocalist Alex Christ talked about the band’s inspiration.
“I’d say a lot of the guitar music from the 2000s and the 2010s, we all grew up with that stuff, mixed with the really bouncy, catchy, recession pop that we’d see from 2008 onward. That inspired us all to pick up our instruments,” Christ explained.
“We put a lot of work every week into our live shows to make them as 3D and stimulating as possible and tasteful as well. So you can expect high production, but with raw passionate energy. Also, an amazing amazing light show,” he said.
Moravian is made up of band members that were high school friends.
“Every experience that we have as a band, it just made that much more magical because we’re all friends,” Christ said.
