Body found in burned SUV on Detroit’s west side

Victim suffered gunshot wound to head before car was burned

DETROIT – An investigation is underway after a body was found Tuesday morning inside a burned SUV.

Detroit firefighters were called about 1 a.m. Tuesday to Hazlett Street and Tireman Avenue on the city’s west side. Firefighters were distinguishing the flames when they found the body inside the burned Dodge Durango.

The victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the head before the vehicle was burned.

No more information has been released at this time as the investigation continues.
