MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – A 31-year-old man from Clinton Township will spend the rest of his life behind bars after being convicted of first-degree murder.
Steven Bryce Wheeler was found guilty by a jury Thursday, Jan. 23, of first-degree murder and felony firearm.

According to authorities, Wheeler shot his wife in the head five times with a handgun in their Clinton Township home in October 2023.
Police said he got into an argument with her and she called 911 after he assaulted her.
She was shot multiple times while she was on the phone.
Neighbors reported seeing the couple’s young children run from the house after hearing gunshots.
Wheeler is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 26.
