DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. – Three people were shot and injured in a Dearborn Heights neighborhood.

According to police, the shooting happened at around 1 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, at a home in the 23000 block of North Brookside Street. Two men and a woman were injured.

Police said one person was found lying in the street and when officers went into the home they found two more people. All three had been shot.

“We believe there was a gunfight where we had individuals approaching the house they end up in an altercation with the residents in the house and yes, a gunfight ensues,” Dearborn Heights Police Director Paul Vanderplow said.

All three people who were shot are expected to survive.

“We’re trying to put together who knew each other and what the relationships were, and what the ultimate motive was. Unfortunately, with everybody injured it’s kind of hard to interview them right now so we have everybody under protective guard right now until we can talk to them and really ascertain what happened,” Vanderplow said.

Police said there is no danger to the public.
