M-14/I-96 to undergo construction for 2 years -- what to know

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – M-14/I-96 between Sheldon Road and Newburgh Road in Plymouth Township and Livonia will undergo construction.

The construction consists of roadway, bridge and ramp reconstruction, as well as Metro trail work that is expected to take two years.

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will rebuild the eastbound side of M-14/I-96 from Sheldon Road to Newburgh Road between March and late 2025. Westbound lanes will be rebuilt in 2026.

MDOT wants to hear from you

MDOT is holding a public meeting to discuss the two-year project on Feb. 12 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Plymouth Township Hall.

People who attend can share their comments, review project exhibits and learn more about the project.
