ST CLAIR SHORES, Mich. – A 60-year-old man was arrested Friday, Feb. 21, after allegedly stealing a bag and carjacking a vehicle in St. Clair Shores.
According to authorities, it started at about 10:30 a.m. outside the Kroger located near 9 Mile Road and Harper Avenue. Police said a 64-year-old woman exited her vehicle when the man approached her and grabbed her purse.

Police said they struggled over the purse until a bystander intervened and the man ran off with another bag the victim had.
He then reportedly entered the driver’s seat of a running vehicle that had a 61-year-old man in the passenger seat. Police said the suspect threatened the man with violence and drove the car southbound on Harper Avenue before the two got into a fight inside the car at a gas station near 8 Mile Road, where the suspect ran on foot.
Police found the man inside the Walgreens next door to the gas station.
