Man accused of stealing from Oakland County gyms tied to theft, fraud cases in multiple states

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A man accused of stealing from locker rooms in multiple Metro Detroit gyms was arrested, and police are tying him to multiple cases of fraud and theft in other states.

Terrence Harrington is accused of stealing from lockers at various gyms in Royal Oak in December 2024. Police said he’s also tied to additional theft cases in other cities in Michigan, as well as Washington, California and Nevada.

On Feb. 21, 2025, Harrington was extradited from Las Vegas to Michigan. Las Vegas police recovered evidence linking him to identity theft and credit card fraud.

On Feb. 24, Harrington was arraigned on four counts of felony larceny in a building and eight counts of felony financial transaction device - stealing or retaining without consent. His bond was set at $200,000 cash or surety, with a GPS tether monitoring and home confinement.
