Argument between father and son ends in deadly St. Clair County shooting

Son charged with murder, denied bond

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Mich. – A 24-year-old man has been charged with murder in a fatal shooting on St. Patrick’s Day.

It reportedly started as an argument between a father and son that escalated to violence.

According to authorities, deputies responded to the 5300 block of Gratiot Road in St. Clair Township after receiving a report that a man had been shot. When they arrived, they were met by the suspect, who was taken into custody.

The victim, a 56-year-old man, had been shot multiple times. He died at the scene.

24-year-old Wyatt Stimac was charged with first-degree murder and felony firearm. He was denied bond.

If convicted, Stimac faces the possibility of life behind bars.

The investigation is ongoing.
