According to Crain’s, the Mack Avenue site has faced some challenges. In May, Detroit city officials temporarily halted demolition work on the former Buick service center site due to a contractor’s failure to notify nearby property owners. The demolition resumed later that month.

Chick-fil-A currently operates 31 locations in Michigan, with its first opening in Lansing in 2015.
