Weather: Baby, it’s cold outside: Temperatures to fall into single digits this week in Metro Detroit
Bundle up! If your kids wait outside at the bus stop, you might want to plan for them to sit in your car today and tomorrow before pickup. High temperatures will be 15 to 20 degrees below average as we end the work week as we only top out in the 20s both days.
We flirt with record cold temperatures on Friday. As temperatures fall into the single digits overnight we could tie the record low on Friday morning which stands at 6 degrees (set in 1974). Forecasted highs on Friday are in the low to mid-20s. The record for lowest maximum temperatures on December 5th is 23 degrees (set in 1926). But it’s really going to be the wind chills that will smack you in the face. Subzero wind chills are on tap across the area Friday morning, meaning it will feel as cold as 10 below zero.
