ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland University’s high-temperature hot water pipe repair project is on schedule for completion by Thursday, Dec. 11. However, a widespread heating outage affecting 21 campus buildings continues to disrupt end-of-semester activities and finals week.
The outage began during scheduled repairs over Thanksgiving break. The leak has left much of the campus without heat as students prepare for final exams.

In response, the university moved most finals online or consolidated them into heated buildings, offering limited in-person classroom space and hybrid options for students unable to return to campus.
The university has reopened Pioneer Drive between Ravine Drive and the P-16 parking lot and finalized a modified final exam schedule.
Some exams will be held in person at West Center, with coffee and grab-and-go lunch services available on exam days.
Repairs are expected to be completed in time for commencement ceremonies, which will be held on Friday, Dec. 12, and Saturday, Dec. 13.
