Man charged in string of Metro Detroit home invasions again

History of similar crimes dates back to 2017

ST CLAIR COUNTY, Mich. – A 32-year-old Redford Township man is accused of a string of home invasions across Metro Detroit -- and it’s not his first time.

According to authorities, the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office had five reported home invasions between Nov. 28 and Dec. 3. The suspect, described as an unknown delivery driver, allegedly broke into homes while on his delivery route.

Deonte King was arrested on Dec. 6 after authorities received reports of a sixth and seventh break-in. He reportedly was found not far from the home, driving a white box truck that matched the suspect vehicle.

Authorities said most of the stolen goods were identified and returned to their owners.

King was charged Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025, with one count of first-degree home invasion and five counts of second-degree home invasion.

His bond was set at $200,000.

King was previously charged in connection with a string of home invasions in 2017.
