DETROIT – A person has died in a crash near the I-94/I-96 interchange Sunday evening.
Police said a 34-year-old man was driving a Hyundai on I-94 and was merging onto I-96 when he struck a semi-truck, lost control and crashed into the left concrete wall.

The Hyundai was disabled and partially blocking the left lane of eastbound I-96. A driver stopped and helped get two children out of the Hyundai. The 34-year-old remained in the car.
Soon after, the driver of a Dodge Ram traveling on the left lane struck the Hyundai, lost control and hit the semi-truck that was involved in the initial crash. This caused the Hyundai to spin around from the impact and hit the car of the driver who stopped to help in the initial crash.
The 34-year-old man was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. No one else was injured in either crash.
The freeway was closed for hours as police investigated the crash.
