Detroit police seek help identifying arson suspect

A $1,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to an arrest

DETROIT – Detroit police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who was captured on video intentionally setting a fire outside a northwest Detroit residence on July 2.

According to police, the man used a propane torch to set fire to an American flag displayed in front of a home in the 2500 block of Woodstock. The incident took place around midnight.

The suspect is believed to be around 34-45 years old, between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot-3 inches tall, and between 160-190 pounds with dark hair. He was wearing a black zip-up jacket with brown/tan pants.
