ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The biggest game of the college football season is just days away, as Michigan hosts Ohio State this weekend with playoff hopes on the line.
The Wolverines are heavy underdogs once again, laying 10.5 points to the No. 1 and undefeated Buckeyes.
But Michigan has dominated this rivalry in recent seasons, winning each of the last four meetings. In fact, it’s been 2,188 days since the last time Ohio State won The Game.
As the clock ticks down to kickoff at noon Saturday, Local 4’s Jason Colthorp decided to swing by an Ann Arbor staple, the Brown Jug, and try some “Buckeye Tears.”
“Whoa, the bitterness! What do you call this?” Jason asked the bartender. “Buckeye Tears? Yeah, you really do taste the salty despair!”
Why aren’t more people talking about this delightfully themed beverage? Well, Ohio State University is legally challenging the Brown Jug’s attempt to trademark the name “Buckeye Tears,” arguing it could mislead customers into believing it’s an endorsement deal with Ohio State.
Apparently it’s not just the beer that’s bitter.
You can watch Jason’s full story and taste test in the video above.
