DETROIT – The Detroit Lions are gearing up for their Thursday Night Football clash with Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and the Dallas Cowboys inside Ford Field.

But the Lions have been hit with injuries on both sides of the ball as wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and safety Kerby Joseph could potentially miss the game on Thursday (Dec. 4).

With cornerback Terrion Arnold having season-ending shoulder surgery, the Lions could potentially be in the market for some help in the secondary.

According to ESPN Senior Insider Adam Schefter, the Pittsburgh Steelers had agreed to part ways with cornerback Darius Slay Jr.

Slay Jr. is said to want to continue playing this season, and he would be a good fit for the city he once called home.

Slay Jr. was a Pro Bowl corner with the Lions who took him in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft.

He played his first seven years in Detroit, making a name for himself as “Big Play Slay” while becoming a Pro Bowl corner in his final three seasons with the team.

The 34-year Super Bowl champion (Philadelphia Eagles 2025) would fit in nicely alongside D.J. Reed, Amik Robertson, and Rock Ya-Sin as they make a push for the playoffs.

Former offensive guard Laken Tomlinson and the Houston Texans are reported to have agreed to part ways, according to ESPN Senior Insider Adam Schefter.

Tomlinson was selected by the Lions in the first round of the 2015 NFL draft at pick No. 28 out of Duke.

He was the first Duke player to be selected in the first round of an NFL draft since Mike Junkin in 1987.

Tomlinson was traded to the San Francisco 49ers in 2017 for a 2019 fifth-round pick.

Former running back Jermar Jefferson was cut by the Arizona Cardinals.

Jefferson was a seventh-round pick by Detroit in 2021, but injuries and depth at the running back room only allowed him to tote the rock 21 times for 96 yards in three seasons with the franchise.
