Detroit is home to some amazing talent from singers, rappers, actors, and even comedians. Loni Love is an Emmy award and NAACP Image Award winner. The host, actress, comedian, philanthropist, and Detroit native is back home for a special Black History Month Gala. Love joined host Tati Amare and guest host AJ Williams on “Live in the D” to share information about what is expected to take place at the event.

This isn’t just the pigment of your imagination. It’s magenta, the color of the year, according to Pantone. Local 4 Style Editor Jon Jordan joined host Tati Amare and guest host AJ Williams on “Live in the D” to share ways to style the color magenta.

Kittens are indeed adorable and keeping them happy and healthy is important. Lish Dorset from Michigan Humane joined Tati Amare and AJ Williams on “Live in the D” to share ways to keep your feline friends in tip top shape. Dorset said that a key to keeping your pet healthy is to make a veterinary appointment once or twice a year.

National Love Your Pet Day is a day to celebrate your pets and share your love for them. Local author and motivational speaker Mimi Brown and Jason Hall with RiDetroit joined “Live In The D Host” Tati Amare and guest-host AJ Williams for “What’s the Buzz” to share the love they have for their pets.

Style Editor Jon Jordan and AJ Williams, the Managing Editor and former Style Editor of the Michigan Chronicle, sat down with host Tati Amare to discuss the hits and misses of the night.

You may not be the only one dreaming up your next big vacation after COVID. Industry insiders say there will be a huge boom in spending for vacations, in a trend they call “revenge travel.” Tati called on friends of the show Lauren Crocker, Jason Hall, and AJ Williams to find out what their next big travel plans will be.

While some people tune into the Golden Globe Awards to see what the best movies and shows are they should watch, many also tune in to see what everyone is wearing. This week on What’s the Buzz, Local 4 Style Editor Jon Jordan and The Michigan Chronical Editor AJ Williams gave their takes on the fashion hits and misses of the big night. Some looks they agreed on, like how actress/director Regina King sparkled in her one-shoulder black and silver dress. Both AJ and Jon had things to say about last night’s winner Jason Sudeikis’ tie-dye hoodie and Tina Fey’s unforgettable/forgettable dresses. February is National snack food month and we invited some friends of Live In The D to get on the show to chat about everyone’s snack habits. Joining host Tati was AJ Williams, managing editor of the Michigan Chronicle, Blaine Fowler, host of Blaine Fowler Morning Show, and Vanessa Cohen, co-founder of Cohen brand. First, Tati wanted to know everyone’s take on what’s better: sweet or salty snacks? While only Blaine said he really loves sweet snacks, everyone agreed that salty snacks like chips and popcorn are the way to go. AJ recommended pork rinds, which she said she switched to since it’s a great crunchy, salty snack, and it is full of protein but doesn’t have the carbs that chips have.

So why not try a new hobby? First off, do you have a hobby? For Greg Russell, his hobby is collecting autographs and, as someone who interviews celebrities for a living, he has collected many over the years. Jason Hall’s obvious hobby is the e-bike, but what you might not know is that he collects sneakers. Is there a hobby that you had, but later gave up?

First, it’s December 21st, have you finished all your shopping? AJ is done shopping, but she has not received all her gifts yet, as her delivery dates keep getting pushed back. Do you have a favorite ornament or decoration? A sparkly poinsettia is AJ’s favorite holiday decoration since she loves plants. Mark’s favorite decoration is Dandy, a Christmas Duck, which he says “just brings me joy.” Kerry doesn’t just have one favorite ornament, she has tons of them.

Election Day is tomorrow and that’s What’s The Buzz today. Tati Amare talked with some friends of the show all about the importance of voting, but they stayed away from politics. Joining in to talk about this were Blaine Fowler, the host of the Blaine Fowler Morning Show on 96.3 WDVD, Mimi Brown, a local author and motivational speaker, and AJ Williams, the managing editor of the Michigan Chronicle. The group discussed various topics including if Election Day should be a National holiday, They also talked about feelings of if you could date someone who doesn’t vote. It got us talking about text messages and how things are rapidly changing because of the impact texting has had on things like a period or an exclamation point. So today for What’s The Buzz we are talking all about texting etiquette. First up they tackled the using periods in text messages. AJ, on the other hand, thinks they should be used in their proper grammatical way, being the editor she is. Tati loves using punctuation to denote tone in her text messages and said it was all about how you use it.

So we wanted to see if they were doing these common quarantine activities. Did you have a quarantine project? Do you have quarantine project pride or envy? AJ Williams has gotten really into plant care and says she is referred to as the plant lady now. Jason Hall says hes very proud of all his projects and has started getting more into social media.

Our resident foodie, Michelle Oliver, joined up with AJ Williams from the Michigan Chronicle to Find Your Fix for Egg Rolls! Blaine Fowler of The Blaine Fowler Show on 96.3 WDVD and AJ Williams, the City Lifestyle editor for The Michigan Chronicle and the main lady behind singleblackchick.com joined Tati Amare and Jason Carr for the discussion. The first topic was about where you'd travel to 4-ish hours from Detroit, either flying or driving. When asked what the motivation of your trip is, either beach or explore, Blaine and AJ said they like to chill on the beach and relax. Blaine brings at least 2 books with him on each trip, while AJ brings extra luggage for shopping.

Royal Oak restaurants will also be featuring their vegan dish recipes. Tickets are $25 and proceeds benefit the Royal Oak Animal Shelter. For those who missed National Chicken Wing Day, you can join the party at Wing Out Detroit on August 3rd and 4th. The event is an outdoor chicken wing block party that includes a chicken wing eating contest. The annual Thunder Over Michigan event celebrates the military while letting you get close to vintage military planes.

What's the Buzz today is all about FOMO (fear of missing out) and JOMO (joy of missing out). Lauren and AJ both said they had JOMO while Jason said FOMO. The answers were reversed this time for the panelists with AJ and Lauren saying they had FOMO and Jason saying he has JOMO. Finally: Do you have a fear of missing out on summer fun? The panelists were unanimous saying they for sure had FOMO for summer fun.
