One woman is in critical condition and seven people are injured after a 4-vehicle crash on Ann Arbor’s South State Street near I-94.

Closures will last through midnight on Saturday.

Repairs won’t be completed until Monday, July 1.

The Joy Road bridge has been closed in both directions while the damage is evaluated.

Police were notified of the crash through an iPhone notification around 4:50 a.m.

Several streets near Michigan Stadium will have on-street parking restrictions from 8 a.m. to midnight.

An 18-year-old Ypsilanti man was driving the SUV westward in the curb lane heading west as the 76-year-old man crossed the road.

Authorities said the crash happened around 5:18 p.m. on Friday, April 5, when two motorcyclists driving west on Packard Street stuck an eastbound truck.

Five special events are slated to take place in downtown Tree Town resulting in several road closures over the course of the next seven days.

“Our traffic officers have been getting an uptick in school bus violation complaints in recent weeks,” police wrote on social media.

Crews are investigating potential utility issues, officials said.

After 4 p.m. on Thursday, 25 gallons of diesel spilled into the Huron River when a diesel tank ruptured on a jackknifed semitractor trailer on the eastbound M-14 bridge.

The incident happened around 3 p.m. on Thursday in the area of Michigan Avenue and Congress Street, police said.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. Ann Arbor community members can attend a virtual meeting on July 29 to learn about the current findings of the Lower Town study, a mobility study on traffic in the Lower Town area of Ann Arbor. The study works to understand how the growth in the area impacts vehicular, public transit, cyclist and pedestrian mobility. The Lower Town mobility study began in October 2019 and is anticipated to last two years. It was advanced through a 2017 Ann Arbor City Council resolution to update and review previous vehiclular, public transit, bicycle and pedestrian traffic studies through the Lower Town area. YPSILANTI, Mich. – Exactly one year after a tow truck driver was killed in a crash, fellow tow truck drivers from across the state came out en masse to raise awareness. Tow truck driver Nader Chehadi was among two people killed and several others who were injured in a crash involving a school bus on eastbound I-94 at US-23 in Pittsfield Township last May. Chehadi's twin brother, Samer Chehadi, led a long line of tow trucks with their lights and horns on to commemorate his brother's death. A tow truck driver has been killed each year for the last four years in Michigan by drivers not paying attention, or not moving over to give them enough room. We can only hope this will be the last time,” Samer Chehadi said.

Heads up Ann Arbor. MDOT will close eastbound M-14 from I-94 to Main Street over the Huron River for six hours on Sunday morning to repair bridge railing. While the lanes are closed, the suggested alternate route will be eastbound I-94 to northbound US-23.

DETROIT – Wayne State University police said a bus contracted with the university was stolen Friday morning. The bus driver exited the bus to get gas at a station in the 3500 block of Gratiot Avenue. Police eventually stopped the bus on westbound I-94 west of Zeeb Road, which is west of Ann Arbor. The person who stole the bus is suspected of being drunk behind the wheel, police said.
