Michael Keaton hosted this past episode of “Saturday Night Live” that aired over the weekend, and if you paid close attention you may have noticed that a sketch took place in Detroit during the 1950s.

“Saturday Night Live” is one of our greatest institutions, and within the famed show is another famed institution: The Five-Timers Club.

Actress Cecily Strong’s portrayal of Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer returned to Saturday Night Live again. The sketch had Whitmer alongside other governors on a fictional game show titled “So you think you can get the vaccine?”Related: Michigan COVID-19 vaccinations: How to find appointments, info on phases“It’s an honor to be here with my fellow governors,” Strong says as Whitmer. AdIn the sketch, Heidi Gardner portrays a University of Michigan student who comes on the game show in hopes of getting a vaccine. “Do you have any pre-existing conditions?” Strong asks as Whitmer. Last week on SNL, host Regé-Jean Page rocked pearl brooches during his opening monologue, and Local style editor Jon Jordan says that this is just the start of jewelry coming back into men’s fashion. It seems that young guys are embracing the trend a bit more readily, but it really can work for anyone. He said that it works for both formal and informal occasions, and it can be as easy as adding a simple metal clip if you’re not ready for pearls. You may know him from making us laugh from his years on SNL and other shows. Now, Kenan Thompson is the star of the new show called “Kenan”, where he is the host of a morning show and is trying to raise two daughters. Live In The D host Tati Amare chatted with Thompson about how he takes his comedy to new levels for the new show. LANSING, Mich. – Michigan Rep. Cynthia Johnson is under investigation after she posted on social media a response to the many violent, vulgar and racist death threats she’s received. The video, posted Tuesday night, has quickly gone viral and legislative leadership removed her from her House Oversight Committee assignments Wednesday. “My soldiers, they are soldiers for Christ, soldiers against racism, soldiers against domestic violence, soldiers against domestic terrorism,” Johnson said. Rep. Johnson has been removed from her committee assignments, and we are looking into further disciplinary action as the proper authorities conduct their own investigations. Whitmer, Secretary Benson, Rep. Johnson herself, and others.

LANSING, Mich. – Michigan Rep. Cynthia Johnson, the Democratic chair of the House Oversight Committee is receiving death threats due to the election. She posted several of the threats to social media. After both Democratic and Republican representatives have received threats of violence over the election, Michigan Assistant Minority Floor Leader Laurie Pohutsky posted on Twitter about the SNL sketch. The SNL skit was amusing, I guess, but last night my caucus was trying to figure out how to keep those on that committee safe from the deluge of death threats they’re receiving. I’m sorry to be a bummer and I’m glad people enjoyed the skit, but the reality of it is heinous.

After a not-so-funny opening monologue from comedian Bill Burr on this past weekend’s “SNL,” the show needed someone to save it, and guitarist and singer Jack White did just that. Backed by only a drummer (with the coolest drum kit ever) and bassist, Jack White dipped back into his extensive back catalogue of songs, and played some classics. And if you’ve been rocking out to The White Stripes since 1999, you probably already appreciate all of these things. White first saw a rise to fame with his duo The White Stripes. On the bright side, that didn’t stop Jack White from still making music.
