TAYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Two teenagers have discovered a human foot while fishing in Saginaw County. The foot was found Feb. 26 along the banks of the Flint River in Taymouth Township, The Saginaw News reported Thursday. It has been sent to the state police Crime Lab where DNA from the foot will be compared to other collected DNA, Saginaw County Sheriff William Federspiel said. Taymouth Township is south of Saginaw and about 100 miles (160 kilometers) northwest of Detroit. The Flint River extends about 78 miles (125 kilometers) through several Michigan counties, according to the newspaper.

A museum in Saginaw has a hip-hop exhibition that they’ve made virtually for everyone to enjoy. The virtual exhibit will highlight over 150 cultural objects that tell the story of hip-hop’s influence on culture, film, music, and more. The Marshall M. Fredrick Museum believes that museum professionals need to take the lead in the community to expose people to all cultures. One person dead after truck crashes into house in Saginaw. SAGINAW, Mich. – A pickup truck crashed into a Saginaw home early Thursday, killing a woman sleeping inside on a couch, police said. She apparently had been sleeping on her couch when the truck crashed into her home, Gerow said. The driver of the truck fled the scene on foot before officers arrived, The Saginaw News reported. The crash severed a natural gas line, prompting Consumers Energy personnel to respond to the scene, Gerow said.

BAY CITY, Mich. – A Texas woman faces federal charges in Michigan for allegedly selling a toxic diet pill online to residents in the state’s Saginaw and Washtenaw counties. The indictment accuses her of obtaining the drug DNP, also known as 2, 4-dinitrophenol, from suppliers and profiting from its sale. The sales began as early as October 2018, and at least some of her customers were in Saginaw and Washtenaw counties, court records state. Holloway appeared remotely from Texas on Dec. 17 before a U.S. District Court magistrate judge in Michigan who granted Holloway a $10,000 unsecured bond and said she would be supervised out of Fort Worth, Texas. Her trial is set for April 20 before a federal judge in Bay City, Michigan.

On Thursday Sept. 17 at around 9:50 a.m. Michigan State Police were sent to a home in Kochville Township to investigate a missing person. He was going to the Fashion Square Mall in Saginaw. An additional five coronavirus (COVID-19) testing sites are opening this week throughout Michigan as part of the states Neighborhood Testing initiative. In addition to no-cost COVID-19 testing sites throughout the state, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is partnering with community members to operate testing sites at locations such as churches, community colleges and nonprofit organizations. This week, five new no-cost COVID-19 testing sites will open in Detroit, Lansing, Niles, Saginaw and Wayne. LAPEER COUNTY, Mich. Deputies responded to Bowmans Outdoors in Lapeer County in the early mornings of Friday in response to a break in alarm. When deputies arrived they discovered the building had been broken into and more than two dozen firearms had been stolen. Investigators reviewed security footage and determined the suspects are three Black men. The suspects fled the scene in a light colored Chevrolet Cruze. Burglary tools and clothing seen in the security footage was also recovered.

DETROIT – Inside a newly released report from the White House, while Michigan is currently in the middle of a coronavirus spike, parts of the state are teetering on the edge of a move back to stricter lockdown conditions. The White House also points out in the potential 17 hotspots including both cities and counties. BAY CITY, Mich. – Five people and a dog have been rescued from a sinking boat in Saginaw Bay. The 50-foot vessel was halfway submerged and one person wearing a life jacket was in the water when a Coast Guard rescue boat arrived after 11 a.m. Wednesday, the Coast Guard said Thursday in a release. A line was tossed to the person who was pulled aboard the Coast Guard Station Saginaw River rescue boat. The other four people and the dog were helped aboard the rescue boat from the sinking vessel. Salvage crews were working Thursday on a plan to remove the sinking boat from Saginaw Bay, according to the Coast Guard.

SAGINAW, Mich. The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force announced the arrest of Saginaw resident Jason Conrad Forster, 42, for possession of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime. Forster was arrested following an investigation in which digital evidence was seized from his home. The investigation was initiated after officials learned Forster was in possession of child sexually abusive materials. Following a forensic examination of the digital evidence, Forster was charged with four counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive materials and four counts of using a computer to commit a crime. Forster was arraigned in the 70th District Court on Thursday.

LANSING, Mich. – Michigan Lottery Claim Centers will reopen to accept prize claims by appointment only on Monday. They will be wearing masks, following social distancing guidelines, using Plexiglass partitions on counters and disinfecting shared surfaces. LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Transportation’s (MDOT) GIS Unit has created an interactive map listing all road closures related to flooding impacting Gladwin, Midland and Saginaw counties. The map includes closures for state trunklines (I, M and US routes), local roads and will provide updated road impacts until flooding concerns have subsided. More than 20 state trunkline and local agency bridges have been impacted by flooding and will require inspections prior to reopening to the public, according to officials. Flooding also caused severe damage to many bridges that will need to be repaired. “We’re asking the public to continue to follow any safety advisories issued and respect any road barricades you may encounter.

BRIDGEPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A woman and her baby died Tuesday morning in a mobile home fire near the Michigan city of Saginaw, authorities said. Multiple fire departments responded to the blaze in a mobile home park in Saginaw County's Bridgeport Township. The mother and child were in one of three trailers that caught fire, authorities said. The cause of the fire wasn't immediately known, and the names of the victims weren't released. Bridgeport Township is about 80 miles (130 kilometers) northwest of Detroit.

CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police in Canton Township are searching for a man suspected of using a cloned credit card. Authorities said the man in the photos above was caught on surveillance video fraudulently using a cloned credit card to make purchases in the Saginaw and Lansing areas. A picture of his vehicle is below. Anyone who recognizes the man or has information about the case is asked to call Canton police at 734-394-5400.

VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Another alligator has been found in a state where alligators do not natively reside, just days after the last sighting in Metro Detroit. An alligator was found Tuesday morning on the side of a road in Oceola Township. Last week, a Detroit man vacationing in Saginaw shot a gator that wandered onto his property. The week before, an alligator was found wandering around Milford. The sighting of the large reptile was the talk of Belleville, where a woman insists she saw a real alligator in Belleville Lake.

"A 6-foot alligator can take an adult down and snack on them all week long," Fells said. He immediately called 911 and met with deputies from the Tuscola County Sheriff's Office. The Tuscola County Sheriff's department said Fells did nothing wrong in killing the alligator in self-defense.
