Severe Threat Overnight
4 Live Radar is already tracking storms in southern Minnesota that will cross Lake Michigan and bring us a chance of severe weather overnight. Be alert from midnight through 6AM, although most of the activity may be in the second half of that window.
The biggest threats are damaging straight line winds and large hail. Make sure you have a way to get weather warnings while you're sleeping. We've posted a link at ClickOnDetroit on how to program your NOAA weather radio if you have one. If you don't have one, there's still time to grab one before storms arrive tonight.
Storms should be significantly weaker by sunrise and gone completely before lunch. The rest of Thursday will be dry. Then another round of storms arrives Friday.
The weekend is looking even cooler but still plenty bright.
