This is not about to be your standard Black History Month celebration event recommendation fluff article. Get a hard taste of reality and see Do the Knowledge presented by Jake Russell at Planet Ant. While it isn’t all flowers and butterflies, this original comedy production will have you laughing like there’s no tomorrow.
Do the Knowledge is a different and highly authentic show that puts a comedic lens on a very dark true story. Jokes will come to life and be acted out as you hear them told to paint a picture and to educate people about the Black experience in America. The show features stand-up, sketch comedy, monologues, and even a PowerPoint presentation in the style of a TED talk. Comedians will talk about difficult topics concerning racism, history, and even their own experiences being Black in America.
