A Michigan State Police helicopter helped officers track down suspects in a stolen vehicle pursuit Saturday night in Metro Detroit.
The helicopter helped search for the stolen car on Jan. 4, 2025, and directed officers to the location where the suspects abandoned the car and ran away.

Seven suspects were seen leaving the car and running to a nearby house. Footage showed the suspects climbing through a window of a home.
Police quickly surrounded the home, leading to some suspects running to the back alley behind the house. Officers quickly moved to the back to find the remaining suspects.
All seven suspects were detained. Police said a firearm was recovered along with the stolen car.
“It is not every day you see seven suspects run from a stolen vehicle,” said F/Lt Mike Shaw. “Again, we see through the use of technology and MSP aviation another stolen car recovered, and a firearm is off the streets. At this time, it hasn’t been determined if this group of suspects had committed any other crimes.”
