Furniture donations support families in need

(Courtesy of New Life Christian Fellowship)

If you have some furniture or household, items that you’d like to donate, you’re invited to take part in “Michigan’s Largest Housewarming Party.”

It’s the second annual event sponsored by Gorman’s Home Furnishings and Interior Design. You may have seen our interview on our Local 4+ streaming morning show.

Here’s how it works. You can call or visit one of Gorman’s stores in Novi, Southfield, or Troy to make an appointment on Tuesdays, between January 28th and February 25th. Then, someone will stop by to pick up new, gently-used furniture or unused household items. Those donated items will be used to support the Furniture Bank of Metro Detroit, Habitat Oakland Restore, and Humble Design Detroit. All of them help supply families in need with essentials for their homes.

“We’re committed to providing another opportunity for Detroiters to donate furniture and join us in making a tangible difference in peoples' lives,” says Jon Moray, the CEO of Gorman’s. He also added, “Together, we can help create warm, welcoming spaces that people are proud to call home.”
